The Intermediate Intensive Chinese consists of 4 volumes. Each volume has 12 lessons. So altogether there are 48 lessons for one-year study. Every lesson is composed of 7 parts: Clues, Vocabulary, Text, Key Words, Grammar, Exercise, Supplementary Reading. In Book I., about 45 new characters in each lesson and 800 ~ 1400 characters in each passage. In Book II., about 48 new characters in each lesson and 1000-1500 characters in each passage. In Book III. and IV., about 50 new characters in each lesson and 1200 ~ 1700 characters in each passage. Altogether there are 1810 new characters for learning.
